Prolapsed Cervical Disc Surgery
For cervical spine disc disease, Dr Ammar Anwer performs Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion (ACDF) and Anterior Cervical Corpectomy and Fusion (ACCF). Procedure
After patient is anesthetized, Dr Ammar Anwer utilizes image guidance to localize the diseased disc. A tiny incision is marked, and front of neck is opened. The size of the incision is 1 to 11/2 inches. Dr. Ammar Anwer uses high magnification operating microscope for precision, accuracy and to minimize damage. The diseased disc is drilled using state of the art high speed neurosurgical drill and replaced with titanium cage which is fixed with screws and plates to minimize instability. Post-operative images are obtained to ensure that the surgery is successful.
